Legong Dance

In Bali, not every one have same understanding of the word "Legong". Until today some Balinese think that legong is any non-dramatic dances performed by woman. One of the cause is the popularity of kebyar dances that become so popular in Bali after legong era. Instead, the word Legong Kraton, means 'legong of the palace', is often used by the Balinese referring to all repertoire of legong.

Baris Dance

According to Covarrubias no dance in the world can be manlier than baris. Baris, a traditional war dance, typifies the strong elegance of the male and is the source of for all masculine dances. The Baris dance can be performed by men in pairs of four, eight, sometimes even tens; the accompanying gamelan is the gamelan gong or gamelan gong kebyar. The word “baris” means a line or military

Roy "Majapahit" Thompson AKA Wayan; Ubud drug dealer

This is the face of Amercian Roy Thompson who lives in Ubud, sells narcotics, claims to be the friend of Made Pastika's family and calls himself Roy Majapahit or "Wayan". Roy is widely believed to be mentally unstable and a little short on good sense and now there is proof; you see Roy has published, as a grudge, a person's passport details on the Internet. Why is that such a big deal? Because the copy of this passport was purchased along with other so called confidential data from a Balinese police investigation file. That's right, Roy "Majapahit" Thompson, Ubud cuckoo, published proof that the Balinese police will do anything for money on the world wide web!

First though, the history of Roy; Mr. Thompson departed the USA after his lifelong girlfriend there left him. But that is not so bad you say? Ah, but apparently Roy's lifelong sweetheart left him for another woman! Roy came to Bali 8 years ago on holiday and met a "kupu kupu malam" (local street girl) Nyoman Eri and married her within 5 days of having met her, some argue in order to be able to stay in Bali. Roy and his wife now have three boys, although informed sources claim that at least one of these is not Roy's. One is reportedly the illegitimate child of a neighbour called "Frogy" (nice); you just have to see the child's skin, hair and eye colour to suspect something is not right. Roy plays in a local Balinese orchestra, wears Balinese clothes much of the time and officially works as an "art consultant" plus sells a few low quality Indonesian paintings and "kris" (ceremonial daggers). Not enough to earn a living? Well no, but then Roy does what a few expatriates do to make some bucks in Ubud, he sells narcotics. Roy Majapahit has a network of expat customers in Ubud, many of whom he socializes with at a local bar Nuris Warung (run by an ex-New Yorker "Brian" on Jl. Raya Sanggingan opposite the Neka Museum) on "Tuna Thursdays"; an event for the local and very weird looking Hash House Harriers (see some pictures) of which many are reportedly customers of Roy's.

Roy Thompson believes he is Balinese now and a very influential Balinese at that, citing connections with senior Indonesian politicians and the family of Bali's former police chief and governorial candidate, the much lauded yet very evil Made Pastika. Of course Roy does not have any influence outside his own toilet door, but you can easily search around Bert Vierstra's Bali Expat Forum (actual link shows Roy helped Bert found his nasty expat forum) to see what I tell you is true. Roy is not a big player in Bali or a particularly bad man, he is just very misguided and a little short on the IQ. He is a victim more than anything else but he made it to my blog because of who he sells narcotics to; children as young as 12 years old. Bali has a tremendous child drug problem and scum bags like phony Wayan Majapahit are to blame.

As mentioned before, sad nasty Roy also deserves a mention here for his sheer stupidity and callousness for posting confidential details of someone he has a huge grudge against, Mark Austin, on the Internet. These details originally came or were rather sold by the corrupt police to Jack Daniels (along with much more). Daniels then either passed copies of Austin's passport to his agent / accomplice in Lovina, Bert Vierstra who passed them to Roy, or less likely Daniels gave them directly to Roy Thompson.

Thompson's stupidity is date stamped April 15th, 2007 and coincides with his plugging, no doubt as thanks, Jack Daniels' site on Bert's expat forum a few days earlier and Jack Daniels' own support plus admiration for him (Jack admires Roy). I have been told by a friend Daniels first gave illicitly gained Austin's passport copy to Vierstra (see my page on the highly illegal gay Bert Vierstra) some time ago who then passed it on to Thompson earlier this year; this seems to be confirmed by the fact Vierstra shortly after added a link to Thompson's blog from his own site.

If you think this is all too much to believe, then answer the question how did Roy Thompson get a copy of Mark Austin's passport photograph, the exact one the Balinese police unlawfully seized and made copies of in 2002? How come Roy was able to publish the exact data you find in a passport; full name, date and place of birth? Roy's post (seen top left - yes, I blanked Austin's face out so as not to break the law or act indecently myself) has / had it all. This ultimately will probably be the act that sees Roy go to jail and be deported as I am told his drug dealings are done with the knowledge of the local police, for a fee. Hopefully this faux pas will also see Vierstra and Daniels go to jail and then be deported too with my and most Balinese's good riddance.
